Losing Too Much Weight Can Cause Your Hair To Fall Out

Did you know that not eating enough can cause your hair to fall out? For those of you who are trying to lose weight, make sure that you aren't cutting back on your caloric intake too much. In addition, make sure that you consume an adequate amount of protein. Hair is mainly composed of protein, and it therefore needs protein to keep it strong and healthy (Prevention magazine, April 2009, pg. 26).

I was just reading about adding garlic powder to your deep conditioner to prevent excessive shedding have you ever heard of this or would you recommend this?

Hey Sausha. No, I've never heard of that before. However, most of the info I've found on hair shedding requires that you work from the inside out (i.e. eat right and take vitamins to handle any deficiencies.)
