Garnier Fructis Moisture Works

Since I'm looking for a new shampoo to use now that my One 'N Only Ceramic Silk is being discontinued, and Walgreens was having a 3 for $10.00 sale on select Garnier Fructis products, I decided to give them a shot. I was a little disappointed however when I got to the counter and realized that the conditioner I purchased was NOT a part of the 3 for $10.00 deal, so I ended up paying a little extra (~$12.00 for all three products). Anyway, here are the items I purchased:

  • Moisture Works Fortifying Shampoo + Conditioner
  • Moisture Works Fortifying Cream Conditioner
  • Leave-in Conditioning Cream
I shampooed and conditioned my hair, then applied some of the leave-in cream prior to allowing my hair to air dry. I loved how soft the shampoo and conditioner left my hair. The fact that the shampoo contains conditioner really helped me detangle my curls. I'm not so keen on the leave-in conditioning cream, as I didn't find it to be all that moisturizing. In fact, I attempted to do a braidout with the cream, but my hair came out so dry that the waves didn't really take. Plus, when I rinsed my hair yesterday following my workout, I noticed that the water seemed sudsy, as if I had soap in my hair.

I'm pretty convinced that Garnier Fructis' styling aids aren't for me. I do know some sistahs who use the Fiber Gum, but that doesn't sound like a product I'd be interested in. Plus, you remember how things turned out when I tried their Curl Sculpting Cream Gel. I therefore think I'll leave the styling aids alone, but so far, I'm loving their shampoo and conditioner. Not only did I love how they made my hair feel, but the smell…OMG! My husband commented on the fruity goodness the moment he stepped inside the room! Products with strong scents can turn some people off, but I find these products to have a very pleasant smell. I almost forgot to put on perfume because my hair smelled so good :-)!

I'll let you ladies know once I've finished the bottles if I plan to purchase them again, but so far, so good!

I haven't personally used Garnier Fructis on my hair, but I use it on my boyfriends hair who has beautiful naturally curly hair (that he wears in braids). I use the Sleek&Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk, it does a great job on his hair (which is super thick and curly),it helps with the blow drying so I can put it in a nice ponytail until he has it braided. You're right the shampoo and conditioner does smell amazing! Anyway, just sharing my experience lol

Thanks for mentioning your experience with the Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner. My teenage daughter already uses one of their anti-frizz serums to flat-iron her hair. We may want to try the shampoo, too.

I've used the shampoo a couple of times, because that was the only shampoo my fiance had on one of my stay overs, I liked it but never thought to buy any for myself. So i guess I'll give it another try. But i have a question about how do you feel about Pantene shampoo and conditioner. I love how it leaves my hair very soft and moisturize. but have you ever tried it? oh and i began using the replenishing pak organic root stimulator, and I love it, so creamy and the smell is wonderful, thanks for the advise.

I love your blog!!! However I think that you should know that a discrimination suit has been filed and won against Garnier because they feel that Black, Asian, and Arabian women are unworthy of their products. As a result, I was forced to give up the Garnier deep fortifying conditioner that I love. See link below:

I have tried Garnier's shampoo and conditioner, and it didn't do much for the feel or moisture of my hair, but I did love the smell. Have you ever tried RedKen's Smooth Down line? It's great for my hair when I wear it straight. And there Butter line is AWESOME for my hair. It moisturizes great and it really makes my hair feel soft like butter. Weird I know, but the conditioner was probably the best deep conditioner I've ever used. Oh yeah and also Paul Mitchell's Super Charger Conditioner is a very good Deep conditioner. Works well for damaged, color or chemically treated hair. I haven't jumped on the all nautral products for natural hair band wagon yet so I'm sticking with what works for me.

Ooh Nicci, I didn't hear anything about that! I'm gonna have to check that out, 'cause if that is truly the case, they won't see another dime of my money!
