As we move closer in our walk with God, it is necessary to let go of certain attitudes and behaviors that bear no fruit. Just like a rose bush, we must constantly cut away the dead vines so that new ones can grow and produce beautiful flowers.
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." John 15:1-2 (NIV)
