Summer Highlights

As with many, I decided to go lighter for the summer. My hair has grown out a lot, so my old highlights were long gone. My sis and I decided to take a trip to our local beauty school to get face framing highlights and...

I had the worse beauty school experience EVER!!! Although my highlights came out bomb, my colorist, who was eight months into a ten month program, had no confidence whatsoever. Needless to say, getting your hair done by someone who looks terrified does not make for a good time. However, the instructor, who kept a close eye on the entire process, really helped settle my nerves by reassuring me that all was well. And, I am quite pleased with how everything turned out. Check it out:

As you can see, only a small portion of my hair was dyed. However, the placement, which the instructor called a horse shoe application, makes it appear that a lot of my hair is colored. I asked for a coppery red shade, and that's exactly what I got. Here's another look at the color:

What fun colors/styles will you be experimenting with this summer?

So pretty. I vowed that I wouldn't dye my hair anymore and this makes me want to try it again. Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Your hair is gorgeous as usual. Are you rocking it in any protective styles this fall?
