Massaging the Scalp

Scalp massages help stimulate hair growth, and should therefore be a part of your normal regimen. Just as exercise increases blood flow to the scalp, manipulating the scalp with your fingertips increases circulation, which means that your follicles will get the blood supply they need to stay nourished. In addition to promoting hair growth, scalp massages have also been known to alleviate stress, as they help to release any tension that may build up inside your head.

To give a good scalp massage, you must first invest in an oil that's formulated to keep your hair and scalp nourished. Olive oil is great, but you can also try carrot, tea tree, and Vitamin E oil (Vitamin E improves circulation to the scalp, thus aiding in hair growth), just to name a few. Once you've found an oil that suits your needs, you can rub some on your hands and use the balls of your fingertips (Not your nails. You don't want to create cuts in your scalp by scratching!) to gently massage the oil into your scalp. Brushing and combing the hair produces the same effect, but scalp massages are much more soothing and relaxing. Try it, you might like it ;).
