Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Once I figure out what I'm going to do I will definitely post it here. FYI...I'm a You're a Classic Makeup Fashionista. Hope you had a great hoiday!!
Well, I am not trying to wear heavy makeup either...because my skin is oily and acne prone...so I sweat A LOT in the summer...I wash my face as soon as I come in from outside...and make sure I wear sunscreen on my face...
My hair? I don't put heat in my hair because my hair is ear length...and I'm afraid I'll burn myself...I just wear wigs and cornrows or kinky twists throughout the summer...
I am trying to drink tons of water to hydrate my body and skin and hair! It's gonna be hot this summer!
I just joined the site, so I thought I'd put my two cents in.
My main focus this summer is taking better care of my hair. For me, this means 12-14 weeks between relaxers (as opposed ot 6-8)and low to no manipulation. I plan on wearing mostly braidouts and other non heat hairstyles. I guess this means my hairstlyist will be laid off for part of the summer...lol
Also I DEFiNITELY need to drink more water. I am soo bad about that. It sometimes takes me an entire 8 hr day at work, to drink a 16 oz bottle. I know, horrible huh?
So I decided to add a product and tweak my reggie a bit. The product I just started to try is the L’Oreal Vive Conditioning Spray with UV filters. The UV filters will help protect my hair from the sun. Hopefully, if this product works out it will become a staple. Also, I plan to do more co-washes during the summer after my workouts to help with drying. Currently, co-washing is not a part of my regimen. Lastly, I plan to experiment with my flexi rods for different curly looks. So your video on flexi rods will definitely help.
Personal question, when you go workout do you go before or after work? And if you go before work what is your normal routine after the workout for your makeup and hair?
Janelle: I work from home, so I workout whenever I feel like it. However, I find that I have the most energy mid day versus in the morning or evening. When I worked a 9-5, I tried working out early in the AM, but that was not happening! I had absolutely no energy to put into my workouts, so it was pointless. I therefore worked out in the evening after work. I tried to go straight from work, because if I waited until after dinner, a lot of times I would be too tired and say, "Forget it!"

Strawbaree, you're so on point with the water. Yes, staying hydrated is definitely key for staying healthy and keeping your skin clear. Great tip!
