Diet

Have a Coke and A Smile?

Say it ain't so! I used to guzzle down diet coke like it was nobody's business, but I stopped a while back because of the reports that said that coke was found to strip the bones of calcium. Since I'm lactose intolerant and therefore rely on calcium supplements to get my much needed nutrients, I eased up on the coke and now only drink it from time to time. Now there's a new report stating that cola can cause muscle problems. You can get the full report here: Too Much Cola Can Cause Muscle Problems.

So ladies, ease up on the soda. If you drink the regular variety, eliminating the excess sugar will help you lose weight, so steering clear of it will benefit your health in more ways than one!

Drink water, drink water, drink water. You can spruce things up by squeezing a lime or a lemon in there. Put alot of icecubes that will make it taste a little better. Besides I do not want to drink my calories, I would rather eat my calories and also water will help you to fill full, again, at zero calories. One more thing, I heard that the ice cubes, will also burn a wee bit of calories because your body is trying to warm the water up in your system. Any little bit helps!

That's so much for this info. I have given up soda for awhile now.

Yeah, I heard on The Doctors that drinking ice water helps burn calories. Like you said, I'm down for trying whatever works that won't put my health at risk!

I absolutely love drinking iced water! I love it after my workouts, after a long walk on a hot summer day, or just because I'm thirsty (duh). Nothing satisfies thirst more than some good old H2O. It is great that you are posting this information to readers that may not have read it otherwise. I am known to be a health nut and this kind of info is great!!!

I gave up soda in 2006. Best thing I ever did for myself. I try to drink more water but every now and then (being that I'm from the south) i crave sweet tea. Another drink that I really should give up..but I'm not quite ready to do it. At least I limit my consumption of this beverage to twice a week. Other then that water, water and more water.

Wow! This is really good information. I don't buy soda unless I'm having guests over or when we go out to eat which is not that regularly. I learned long time ago that soda is not good for your skin either. Drinking a glass of cold water first thing in the morning is really good for your body. It gives your body the oxygen it needs to pump up your blood flow. Don't remember where I learned this, sorry. Thanks for the info.
