I'll be updating my favorite products list soon and was hoping you could help me by recommending a good, AFFORDABLE shampoo to try now that my beloved One 'N Only Ceramic Silk is being removed from the shelves. Now, I already have a fav shampoo for my curly styles. What I'm looking for is one that's good for prepping the hair for heat. My One 'N Only Ceramic Silk was a thermal protection shampoo that was designed to strengthen the hair and protect it form harsh UV rays. If any of you can recommend one that you use prior to heat styling, please pass on the 411.

Try Creme of Nature Conditioning Detangling Shampoo... They have a regular formula (Red bottle) and an Extra-Moisturizing (Green Bottle)... They are amazing and super cheap... But try to find the older version, apparently the new version (orange bottles) are not as good...
Haven't heard of any but will look some stuff up and ask some of my co workers at the salon.
when i straigtened my hair, i used mizani's thermasmooth system with good results. the system consists of a shampoo, conditioner, smoothing serum and anti-humidity spray, all designed to protect and smooth the hair throughout the straigtening process. i believe wes @ honeybrownsugar.com uses it to straigten her hair too. hope you find this info useful!

Sunsilk has a great shampoo & conditioner geared to prepping hair for heat. It's called Straight to Perfection (pink bottle) and it's very affordable as well. Since it's a Canadian product, i'm not sure if you'll fins it in your area, but if you do, its worth a try
Alot of times I can find name brand products (such as Chi) online on Ebay or Amazon at a cheaper price even with shipping and handling costs.
I always use Pantene Pro-V Relaxed & Natural for Women of Color...Both the Shampoo and Conditioner...works great for me especially because its easier to comb through my curls afterwards...THANKS
Oh I almost forgot, when Im done washing my hair with the Pantene, I use Smooth N Shine Silk Therapy Repair Oil Roots and Ends, it lathers up so I can use it as a hot oil treatment or as a styling aid.
