Two-Strand Twists
Today's tutorial is on two-strand twists. This low-maintenance hair style has become one of my favorite summer looks. It may take an hour or so to create, but the payoff is so worth it. I literally don't have to do anything to my hair once my twists are set. I use Twist It Hold It Shine It by Luster's Pink (a product featured on my favorite products list) to form the twists. I can go up to a week with this style, and all I have to do is wrap my hair in a satin scarf to protect it at night. This style is a great option for transitioners and busy moms who "don't have time" to fuss with their little one's hair on a daily basis.

Again love this style!
Was your hair wet, damp or dry when you did this?
I had just washed, conditioned, and towel dried it, so it was damp.
Ooh! This is so cute. I like the bun you made with the twists. I'm gonna do a cornrow and twist style similar to the one that I have in my avatar for the summer.
Adorable! Thanks for the inspiration
DEFINITELY showing this to my mom! So pretty! :)
Ironically I just did this style on my 11 year old daughter, to give her scalp a break from daily styling! I usually do braids but I am currently transitioning and she has two smaller siblings so there is not much time.
I was using natural pomade by L’Oreal until I remembered I found a bottle of coconut oil in the cupboard. I finished twisting the front of her hair and dabbing each strand with the coconut oil. What a difference between the strands of twist in the front and back. The front (with coconut oil) is very soft, no shrinkage, and has a beautiful shine! Coconut oil is very light and her flyaways were sealed!
I will definitely use it again for her even though it did not work so well on my hair. Right now her twist is styled with the front in a ponytail and the back out. Tomorrow I will do the bun on her!!! Thanks for style. I love your blog, and your YouTube channel. Your transitioning tips video was one of the first I watched on natural hair! Thanks again. God bless you!
Thank you so much ladies.
KLove, thanks for the positive feedback! I really appreciate it :-).
I'll just quote what I said on YouTube.
"This is so cool! I've been doing this lately since I wanted to take care of my own hair instead of putting the burden on my mother. She doesn't really like it because my hair looks crazy since my hair likes to move in a whole bunch of different directions. I seriously do love it, especially since I have very unhealthy hair. That's why I wanted to stop my mother from doing my hair because all she did was put weaves in it so it could grow.
Anyway, I'm glad this is here. I don't feel as weird now. :D"
I really mean it.
This is really cute!!! I like this a lot, i want to try this.
Ur twists are lovely, I twisted my hair like that the other day, I think that we have the same length !
I just tried this style last night and I twisted it on dry hair because when I tried it on wet hair, it came completely out. I used Organic Root Stimulator Lock&Twist Gel and it came out cute. So thanks for the inspiration, I will be rocking this style tomorrow for the July 4th BBQ lol.
This looks lovely!
Thanks guys. Glad you like it! :-)
