I hope to be a mother someday, and I definitely believe in this verse. Yet, I think it's important to remember that it says when the child is OLD he/she will not turn from the word that was instilled in him/her as a child. After all, you can't expect anyone -- not even your child to be perfect.
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
