Okay, so we're one month into the "Take Back Your Hair" Challenge, and so far I've been doing really well. I've done one moisturizing and one protein deep conditioning treatment and am due for another protein treatment next week. I haven't cashed in on any of my straight passes (remember, we get two), as I've been rockin' my natural curls this whole month. Yet, the one thing I'm dying to do is dye my hair (no pun intended :-))! Now, I didn't include a no-dye clause in the rules, but I do realize that a chemical process such as this doesn't qualify as a healthy hair practice. Yet, I only dye my bangs, and I'm really missing that splash of reddish blond in the front, as my last dye job is quickly fading away (See Update on Santa Fe Bronze), and I have cut a lot of it out since then…
So, my question to you ladies is, will you consider it cheating if I color my bangs? I know time seems to be flying, but I don't know if I can wait until December 1st to get my color back. What do you think?

Since it's only your bangs I say go for it. However, the color treatment should count as one of your free heat passes! ;*)
I think maybe if you dye your bangs then you should cut out straightening your hair.
No I do not think you are cheating on the challenge...the challenge called for no heat!!
I want to color also however I've been having some lack of moisture issues. Once I find a product that moisturizes my hair well, I will consider coloring also! : )
If you decide to do it, please post pics!
I don't think it is cheating. You are only going to dye your bang right? And you will still follow healthy hair practices once the color is in so your hair won't be damaged by the color! Or is your hair considered damaged once you color it. Do you know the answer to that DPrincess28?
I forgot to do my checkin! LOL! I have been keeping up with washing my hair once a week, and not using my flat iron or curling iron. I do mosisturizing deep conditioning with every wash and I only do protein conditioning treatments the week before and the week after my relaxer! HHG!
I say go for and keep up the deep conditioning. I can't believe a month has already passed. I'm sticking to the routine but I am not seeing growth. But I'm sticking to it and gonna be patient.
I think you should go for it. The challenge is related to heat not color. As divas with natural hair textures, we should have the freedom to play with colors, too. I don't think is cheating.
Before I read the comments, my solution was the same as Ms. harmony's: Go for it, but maybe that should count as one of your two free passes!
