Makeup

My First Elf Haul!

I've been wanting to purchase makeup from Elf (Eyes, Lips, Face) for quite some time now, as I've seen a lot of Vloggers talk about how fabulous their makeup is for such low, low prices. When I say low, I'm talking $1.00 low.

I placed my order on the 12th and it arrived on the 26th. Here's what I ordered:
  • Two Dramatic Lash Kits
  • 1 Eye shadow primer with eyeliner sealer on the other end
I just ran out of my Urban Decay Primer Potion and decided to give Elf's primer a try after seeing iCRAiZ talk about it on her channel. It comes in a stick, almost like a nude lipstick:

On the other side is the sealer, which can turn any eye shadow into a liner:

I also purchased two blushes and a bronzer:

Berry MerryBlushing Rose
Cool Bronzer
This quad has two bronzing shades, a blusher and a highlight. You can blend them all together to get a nice bronzy look, or use them separately to contour and highlight. I've been dying to try contouring and can't wait to give this a whirl.

Lastly, I bought some lippies:

From left to right: Ruby Kiss, Plum Pout, Mauve Berry

The lashes and lippies were $1.00 each, and the blushes, bronzer, and primer were $3.00 each. I therefore purchased everything for $17.00 plus $6.95 for shipping, which brought the grand total to $23.95. Not bad for all this fun stuff!

I don't want to sound like one of those crazed chicks that looks too much into everything, but my hubby ran across a news piece about buying cosmetics & perfume online. It was mainly stating be careful of what you purchase & that 'too good to be true' aspect of it. What I'm wanting to know is if this company is reputable & what's up with the pricing? I would like to try it (what girl wouldn't for those prices?!?) but I don't want to be applying "concoctions" (stuff they've tweeked for their benefit) to my face. Otherwise, I'll be placing an order here shortly!! :)

Hey Infusilier: As far as I know, Elf is reputable cosmetics co. They even claim that their makeup is hypoallergenic. Trust, my skin is SUPER sensitive, so I'll def let you know if I have a crazy reaction. You're right in that you can never be too safe though.

UPDATE: DPrincess28, you will never guess what I found in my local Dollar General...e.l.f. products & of all kinds! There were make-up brushes, eye lash curlers, all kinds of face products...ALL FOR $1.50 OR LESS!! I will not have to go online after all!! Because after I looked there, I went to one of the retail stores & there were e.l.f. glosses there with some other random products that I can't remember...but thanks for blogging about it or I would have passed them off as being "another cheap product" that will take your eyes out!! LOL Thanks again & I miss your updates!!
