"Take Back Your Hair" Challenge: 2011 Edition

In 2009, many of you joined me in participating in the "Take Back Your Hair" Challenge. Great results were achieved in just three short months, as we saw either an improvement in the health of our hair, added length, or both. Well, I feel inspired to do the challenge again. In fact, I'm starting today. Will you join me?

The rules are the same, but if you need to refresh your memory, get the deets (written in pink) here: "Take Back Your Hair" Challenge.

P.S. If you wish to particpate, don't feel pressured to start today. Just be sure to track your official start and end date. You don't have to straighten your hair to check length if that's what you wish to achieve (thickness and or an improvement in health--no splits, breakage, etc.--may be your goal), as stretching out your curls will suffice.

Good luck divas!

XOXO,

DPrincess28

P.P.S. In case you missed the video, here it is:

Thank you for this! I journaled about the need to deal with my transitioning hair beyond braiding it up from month to month last week and this is the push I need to do it. I admit, I am apprehensive about doing it, but I'm going to give it a go. *shiver*

I'm with you! It was that challenge that helped inspire me to go au naturel, and now that I AM au naturel, I can't remember the last time I truly deep-conditioned my hair. woe to my hair is the wash & go lifestyle! tsk tsk...

I'm taking back my hair today!!! Thanks =]

Ok, I'm in. I am so hair challenged that it is ridiculous! I've moved to a new city and the stylist I had immediately chopped off all of my hair and i hate it, so there's no time like the present to start over. Not sure how to upload a photo but I'll figure it out.

I will be joining starting today. going to take my pic now. Thanks for this push. I flat ironed my hair last week and put in small twist last night so I'm ready for heat free styling.

This challenge came right in time! I'm in.

Count me in too...I can do this... My main style is protective. It's been over a year since I've used direct heat and I don't wear weave and extensions.

Unknown said...

I'm definitely doing this :: I've been natural all my life but I've let my hairdresser cut it all up and I'm addicted to the flat iron as far as the heat requirements does putting your hair on rods count?

Unknown said...

I am definitely in! does putting your hair on rods count as using heat if you sit under the dryer?

This challenge will be a great addition to the Shoeperwoman Shoe Challenge I'm doing this year. I welcome the challenge and already washed my hair using your method on the 12th for my birthday the following day. I twisted my hair thought and LOVE it! I will be posting the pictures soon!
