Mackenzie

A lovely diva who goes by the name Ms. Harmony submitted her beautiful niece, Mackenzie, for Kidz Corner. Mackenzie was natural all her life up until recently, as her mother decided to give her a relaxer. Having embarked on her own natural journey, Ms. Harmony wasn't having it! With 16 months of transitioning experience under her belt, Ms. Harmony is currently assisting her niece transition back to natural.

Mackenzie's Regimen: 

1. Her hair is washed once a week. Wash day may be stretched out to two weeks, but no longer than that.
2. On wash day, her hair is shampooed, deep conditioned and detangled section by section.
3. Aphogee's 2 Minute Reconstructor is used once a month as a protein treatment. 
4. Her scalp is massaged at least twice a week with different oils such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO). 
5. Her hair is moisturized daily with Giovanni Direct Leave in or Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship.

• Detangler – Random Conditioner
• Oil Mixture – EVCO, EVOO, Avocado, Jojoba, and Castor Oil

Featured Hairstyle: 

A braid out

During the week Mackenzie wears buns or high ponytails because her aunt has yet to master her braiding technique. The braid out is Mackenzie's go to hairstyle, particularly on weekends when she wants to wear her hair out.

To achieve this style, Giovanni products were used, including the styling foam to give wave definition. A mixture of oils was used to give her hair shine.
