Palmers Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Milk vs. ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion

Y'all know how much I love me some Olive Oil Hair Lotion by Organic Root Stimulator (ORS). Although I consider that to be one of my "tried and true" products, I must admit that there are times when I wonder if there is something better out there. However, even if I were to pursue a different product, I would still look for something that contains olive oil. I posted an article and video in yesterday's post that explains the benefits of olive oil in detail. As I was flipping through one of my black hair magazines, I noticed that Palmers has a line of hair products that contain olive oil. Similar to the ORS line, Palmers has an olive oil formulated shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizing hair lotion. I thought Palmers only made cocoa butter body lotion, but I must say that I am tempted to try their hair lotion. So, I thought I'd post the Palmers product and a description of it so that we can see how it stacks up against my beloved ORS:

In summary: I'm not obsessive when it comes to checking for ingredients like some other ladies are, but I must say that I find it a bit strange that I can't pronounce anything in the Palmers' brand of hair lotion. At least I see some real oils in the ORS formula. Oh well, maybe I'll just stick to what I know best…

I use Palmers Coconut Oil Hair Lotion and I love it, it is lightweight, smells good and does not have harmful alcohols, silicones or Mineral oil. I avoided ORS hair lotion because of the ingredient Petrolatum (mineral oil), howeve,r the way you promote it in your vids really makes me want to try it! Love your blog by the way, I'm on a hair growth journey as well!

The reason you can't pronounce the words in the Palmer's ingredients is because they are just using the scientific terms. For instance, the first ingredient, after water (which should always be the first ingredient) is Butyrospermum, which is really Vitellaria paradoxa, which is really Shea.

In other words, shea butter, which is excellent for your hair.

I only use olive oil on my own hair, but I think you are fairly awesome for sharing your hair knowledge with others who love being natural.
