Hair Journey Pics

Hair Progress Pics

*The purpose of these pics is to show the length and condition of my hair as I slowly transitioned from relaxed to natural. Although I wore phony ponies throughout my transition, I did straighten my hair periodically to check length and trim off the relaxed ends.

December 6, 2008 (My natural hair was long here, but it was not as healthy as it could be. I believe the weekly straightening (blow drying and flat ironing) thinned it out. This is the point where I decided to air dry my hair prior to straightening and only use heat once a month).

Are we able to see pics before your first year of transitioning, say the first few months or so? In addition, can we see pics of what your hair looked like permed/relaxed?

Floralfusion: Have you viewed my video that documents my hair care journey? There you'll see pics of my relaxed hair before the damage and after. XOXO

I just wanna say THANK YOU for all your help and encouragement. I started my transition Feb. 2009. My hair type is similar to yours but slightly thinner, so you give me much hope. Stay Blassed.

Just joined your site on youtube and blogspot. I'm 8 months preggers and about to start growing my relaxer out w/o taking such an evasive approach of cutting all my hair off first. I have deemed you my inspiration! LOL...So glad you tech savvy and recording all of this! Yay!

First, I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to do your "How to" videos on Youtube. They are very educational.

I just finished watching the one on trimming split ends and I was wondering:

1. Did you flat iron your hair in order to trim it?

2. Is it better to flat iron it before trimming so you can see the split ends better?

Love, peace and hair grease.

I started my transition October of Last year and my hair experienced a lot of breakage and now that i am maintaining half healthy curls to half damaged perm hair. I trim my hair every month and the stylist sees the transition and says I have so called "good hair". Its a journey that is hard to maintain due to swim classes twice a week til December. But i love it cuz i can rock some curl days and rock the silky straight hair. Thanks for the fave products and also for the encouragement.

Thank you

I don't remember when I started transiting... I know it was either in April or May of this year. I heard a story that changed my thinking about harsh chemicals. This process is not easy, nor is this my first attempt. I decided this time around I would search for as much information about this process as I could find. This is how I ended up on my site and the youtube posts. Thanks so much for giving me so much information in one central location. HOw long did it take before you were able to determine your actually hair texture? I'm seeing so many differnt things on this head of mine and I hope I don't have like four different textures...lol

I am so grateful that I found your videos on youtube which lead me to your blog site. I love your blog, its very helpful and informative. Looking at the success stories on your blogs gives me hope that my hair can grow to great lengths (lol). I've been in transition for 3 years, the health of my hair is excellent, now I'm just working on my length because after all this time its still only shoulder-length. Thanks to your suggestions I have hope my hair will reach mid-back in no time. I'm also going to keep a hair journal to help other African-American women like me. Love this blog!! Thanks...

OMG! I am an inspired beautician.I plan on getting really out there so I am able to do famous people hair.other than that right now I was just preparing myself for cosmetology. So I am looking all over you tube & I see a video of yours about Relaxed to Natural. I have been going natural for about a couple of months now.(I am mixed with Mexican,African American&Indian)..The relaxer is out of my hair now and I am getting the hang of this natural hair. I am taking good care of it but It stays in the same length..I want it to grow really long. So I am trying figure out how to do this. you did say wash it every week. SO i am going to try this. I see yours has grown a lot and its amazing. This is exactly what i want for my hair. I also do make up also. If you have a face book can you add me plz. I would love to ask questions as they come...lol thank you for the tips! God Bless!

I'm currently in transition. I decided to go natural because I know God doesn't make any mistakes and my natural hair is what he wants me to have...who am I to chemically change it? My hair is very long and very healthy relaxed, but my edges are thin from a previous sew in. Any hairline help?
