This is my first blog post!

Hello everyone!

This is my first official blog entry, and I’m so excited to have my own space in which I can communicate my thoughts, knowledge, and beliefs with other women who are interested in feeling and looking their best. As many of you know, I am a lover of natural hair and I love to experiment with products, styles, and hair care practices. I’ve been a member of the Long Hair Care Forum for many years, and have recently posted videos on YouTube about natural hair care. In addition, I’m an avid reader of black hair magazines. A lot of my knowledge comes not only from the information I’ve obtained from outside resources, but from my own experiences as well. By following my blog, you will learn more about who I am, and what I’ve been through. I strongly believe in learning from other people’s mistakes, so if I can spare just one woman from succumbing to the same pitfalls I’ve endured, then I’ve accomplished my goal!

I’m amazed by the number of followers I’ve gained in my fotki albums and on my YouTube page. The fact that there are other women out there who are interested in taking a holistic approach to healthy hair just like I am, brings me much joy. I could just throw a bunch of product information on this site and say “Try this,” but I’m old enough and wise enough to know that true beauty starts from within. People are always looking for that magic product that will make their eyes sparkle, teeth shine, and hair glisten. Yet, I strongly believe that true beauty radiates when one is fully tending to one’s spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health. I know some of you may be thinking, what the heck does all that have to do with hair and beauty? Yet, the answer to that question is actually rooted in science.

Did you know that some forms of hair loss can be attributed to stress? Similarly, our hair and nails can deteriorate if we don’t properly nourish ourselves, as there are certain vitamins that contribute to healthy hair, skin, and nails. True, we can do a good job of covering up our imperfections with makeup and a bangin’ do’, but true beauty is what lies beneath all the glamour and glitz. After all, our spirits and the way we treat others can also have a serious impact on the way others perceive us.

My intention is to gather all the elements I feel contribute to true, enduring beauty, and incorporate them into this blog. My philosophy is that all women are queens and deserve to be treated as such. Yet, we must first respect ourselves and invest time and energy toward our spiritual, mental, and physical well being if we ever wish to radiate with the beauty God blessed us with. I hope you, my sisters, decide to embark on this journey with me so that together, we can lead healthier lives, and see more beautiful, radiant versions of ourselves!

XOXO,
