Kim Kardashian Inspired Smokey Eye

Last Thursday I attempted to recreate another Divalicious look. This is Divalicious look #3 -- the Kim Kardashian inspired smokey eye. I didn't do nearly as good a job as Samantha did in recreating the look, but I tried! I'm still learning how to smoke out black. This is actually my third attempt, but the others were so horrible that I didn't bother sharing them. I don't seem to have a problem smoking out colors, but black is a little trickier because if you don't get it right, you end up looking like someone socked you in the eye, LOL! Anywho, here are the items I used for my version of the Kim Kardashian smokey eye:
  • Copper Bronze by Ulta
  • EP24 Unforgettable palette by L.A. Colors
  • Multi-Color palette by Icing
  • Golden Retriever by Prestige
Below are the steps I took to create the look:

#1. After priming the lids, sweep Copper Bronze ½ way across each eyelid.

#2. Darken up the bronze with the dark brown (last color from the left) in the EP24 Unforgettable palette by L.A. Colors.

#3a. Apply the matte black eye shadow in the Multi-Color palette by Icing to the outer corner of each eyelid. Drag it into the crease.

#3b. Use circular motions to smoke out the black. Always start at the corner and work your way toward the center. Be sure to sweep the color into the crease AND near the lash line.

#4. Apply the golden brown color (third color from the left) in the EP24 Unforgettable palette to the brow bone.

#5. Apply some of the Golden Retriever on top of that golden brown to further accentuate the brow bone.

#6. I used a little bit of Lash Stiletto mascara in very black by Maybelline on my real lashes, then applied falsies in #5. I don't like these lashes as much as I do #138. Remember, I mentioned in my mini lash haul that I am still new to falsies, so I'm experimenting to find which ones best suit my eyes. Below is a pic of the finished look, lashes and all.

I used the following items to complete my look:
  • Pür 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup in Deeper
  • Blot powder by Mac (Not shown)
  • Raizin powder blush by Mac
  • Golden bronzer by Icing
  • High Tea lipstick by Mac
  • Cutie lip gloss by Ulta
