*Special Announcement*

Protecting Your Crown & Glory is Scaling Back…Way Back

Hey divas,

I spent my anniversary in Florida and left the laptop at home. That time away gave me time to think. I devote a lot of time to Protecting Your Crown & Glory, and although I greatly enjoy blogging about hair, makeup, and the like, this whole blogging and vlogging thing has gotten a little out of control. What was once a hobby has dang near turned into a career, as I spend a lot of time taking pictures, recording and editing videos, and scouring the web and magazines for helpful content to share with my fabulous divas. I still don't think many of you truly understand how much time and energy is put into creating daily posts and videos. It's all good though, because the inspiring comments and emails I've received from many of my divas lets me know that my work has not been in vain :-).

I greatly enjoy connecting with all of you and serving as inspiration for the kinky/curly crew (and those who aspire to be members of the kinky/curly crew :-)). Thus, I will continue to blog and possibly vlog, but just not as frequently as I once did. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time or energy to post Monday through Friday. For those of you who have grown accustomed to checking out PYCAG on the daily, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. I hate to have to scale things down, but mama has to work! It's time for me to get back to promoting my book and begin writing my next one. November is National Novel Writing Month, and I have to get crackin' if I'm going to churn out a rough draft before the year is out. Plus, I recently took on a second job so that I could pay off bills quicker, so believe me when I say, something's gotta give!

Trust, I will not leave y'all hangin'! I will still post pictures and informative articles as time allows. Plus, I'm still very much committed to the "Take Back Your Hair" Challenge and will continue to check in on those of you who are participating. After all, I look forward to seeing everyone's progress come December 1st!

Please be patient with me as I move forward. I hope that you stick around, but if my divas start to drop off, I understand. I thank each and every one of you for your support, and wish you the best of luck on your hair care journey!

XOXO,

DPrincess28

P.S. I would like to give special thanks to those of you who sent kind words to me and my hubby on our anniversary. Your well wishes and prayers are greatly appreciated!

(Above are some pics from my trip to Florida. We stayed in Orlando and hit up two theme parks: Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. We ate at NBA City, a restaurant that has imprints of some of the NBA's most notable players' hands. Look how tiny my hand is compared to Kobe Bryant's!).

Glad to have you back! Even though you will be missed on the daily I think it’s wonderful that you have a vision and that you will go after it with no fear. I believe the divas will be ok, you have given greatly toward our hair and sprit and with this new move you have inspired us to prioritize when it comes to what is more demanding of you.
God Bless.

I'm a blogger myself, so I totally understand how much time it can take to turn out quality content on a daily basis. I'm not able to do it, so I don't fault you for scaling back! At least you let your readers know what is happening instead of just fading away.

I definitely wish you the best. I can only imagine the work that it takes to maintain a truly quality site like this. I think that as a devoted follower of your blog that it might be helpful to have a set day that you might update. Like once a week or every other week or every full moon (teehee). Just so we're not sitting at the edge of our seats and checking the page only to be disappointed! Of course, you have to do whats right for you and seeing as how your page is the usually in the top 3 in my history, I'm sure I'll be checking back pretty regularly anyway. Good Luck on your current and next book! Your truest Divas will be awaiting your return for sure!

HI!
I just started watching your videos last week (or two weeks ago) and came upon the video where you introduced this blog so I am a newbie! I have been natural for 5 years but have not worn my "natural hair". I used to press my hair every week. This month I decided to take back my hair and searched for healthy hair tip videos on youtube and thats where I found you! I am saddened that now that I have found you, you have found it necessary to scale back. But i would like to thank you for the many videos and posts that you have created during your time blogging. I will have to go back and watch/read every single post. Thank you for your tireless efforts and I pray that you find the strength and time to give more.

Glad to hear you and your hubby had a great time in Florida. Your daily blogs will definitely be missed but we understand. You gotta do what you gotta do! In the interim, you've provided us with more than enough info to keep us going on our hair journeys, and for that I want to say 'thank you'. Best wishes on you your latest novel. BTW, what is the name of your first? I'd love to check it out. Take care my sista, and stay blessed!

I hate to see you (sorta) leaving as soon as I find your blog/youtube videos. But I totally understand your hobby shouldn't feel like a job. Even though I just started on my "natural hair journey" I want to thank you for being my inspiration. I hope I can keep it up. I will continue to follow your blog and watch and rewatch you videos. Thanks for not getting rid of the blog all together. Again thanks so much and God bless.

P.S. I know your book will be great because your writing on your blog is captivating. :)

I'm so happy you and your husband had a nice time. I wish I knew you were coming to Orlando. I so would of hooked you guys up. :) I love my city and you see the humidity we have to deal with. My hair actually does better down here. I grew up and lived in Michigan all my life and when I moved here my hair has become so much healthier. May God keep blessing you and your husband.

Your the only blog that i read daily, and maybe at all. I understand how much work you put in to it and it is very well appreciated. However there are higher priorities in life for you right now. I wish you well with your book. Take care

Yep.. I'm definitely going back to natural.. AGAIN... but this time is for real.. so many things we can do with natural hair and I didn't know, didn't had the 411 about it.. moisture, moisture is important and I now see my hair grown.. will write a blog about it very soon, I'm a singer-songwriter and I see that even with a very busy schedule, I can't let go that natural hair, have to take care of it....
