We're half way through the month of September, so those of you who entered the "Take Back Your Hair" Challenge on September 1st (See September 1st Crew) should have either done a protein or a moisturizing deep conditioning treatment by now. I did my Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor Treatment on Thursday of last week, and will be doing my moisturizing treatment on the 24th.
For those of you who are confused about what exactly a deep conditioning treatment is or why their important, please check out the following posts for more details:

#2. Protein Treatments
#3. Olive Oil as A Conditioning Treatment
Good luck with the challenge ladies!

I did my first protein treatment Saturday, I also used Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor Treatment. I will do my deep condition this friday.
I did my Aphogee Treatment last week as well. But what I've noticed since I stopped relaxing my hair is that my hair feels so brittle when wet now. Even after the protein treatment and after a shampoo. Sometimes my deep conditioners make them feel softer but only when I add a bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to my hair during the process. Is that normal? Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'm assuming it is because of not getting a relaxer anymore. Any suggestions on what could change that?
Avillacorta, scroll down to read the response to today's reader question. In it I discuss how protein isn't as necessary during the transition process because the hair is more brittle. Please read on. XOXO
I did a protein treatment with Joico K-Pak DPR. I will do a moisturizing conditioning next week.
I did my ORS Replenishing Pack using the cheat a deep condition methodby drying a towel in the dryer, it really helped. Also for Avillacorta, I'm transitioning and I shampoo, use a rinse out conditioner to detangle and rinse out, then I do the deep condition, and finish with the leave in. I know it sounds like a lot, but it puts alot of moisture back into the hair. Also co-washing.
@AvillaCorta, I would recommend washing with DivaCurl No-poo if you want to shampoo instead of just co-washing. DivaCurl No-poo is a great product to cleanse the hair without stripping it and it feels soft on the hair. I would also recommend not to massage your hair when applying shampoo if you do so because it tangles your hair even more. @DPrincess28 I did my deep conditioning this Saturday the 12th with a dominican product called Germ Wheat. I posted a video referencing the product on youtube if anyone wants to view it. Its under my page dahazel17.
I did my deep conditioning yesterday.
