Pink Shimmer for NYE 2010

I love pink because it is the epitome of femininity, and if you peeped the shoes I bought for NYE, then you'd understand why I was inspired to do this look!

Step #1: After priming the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I applied Milk by NYX all over.

Step #2: With an allover shadow brush, I applied the light pink (see color at left below) color in my Rose Tints palette by Maybelline to my lower lid:

Step #3: To glam it up, I pulled out my body glitter stack by Icing, and with the Liner Sealer by Elf, applied some of the white glitter with pink flecks on top of the light rose:

Step #4: Next, I applied C-159 Blossom by Prestige to my crease with a crease brush:

Step #5:
To define the outer V, I applied Eggplant (the deep purple shade below) with an angled crease brush:

To make the outer V look less harsh, I went back in with my crease brush and blended some more of the C-159 Blossom by Prestige with the Eggplant.

Step #6:
For the highlight, I applied the matte pink shade in my Smashbox trio palette:

Step #7:
To finish the eyes, I added black liner to the upper and lower lids, then added falsies in #507:

And this was the result:

Now, to finish the look, I applied:
  • Pur Mineral 4-in-1 powder foundation in Deeper
  • Blot powder in dark by MAC
  • Loverush powder blush by MAC on cheeks
  • Plaza Punch lipgloss by NYC to lips, followed by a lighter, shimmery pink gloss (generic brand)
Normally I apply my golden bronzer by Icing to the area right above my cheekbones as a highlight, but after reading the latest issue of Essence magazine, I decided to follow the advice of famed makeup artist, Sam Fine, and add a concealer that is a few shades lighter than my skin tone instead:

Liquid concealer by Marky Kay in Bronze 1
Last but not least, I did a little countouring on the bridge of my nose with a dark brown eye shadow:

And this was the finished look:

Smooches!

I think the concealer was the best choice for this look, considering you went for a more sparkly eye! It really brightened your face. Also, how do you like to E.L.F. sealer, I too have a glitter stack from icing and have yet to use it.

@bgsbnnyebony: Thanks and yes, I do think the concealer was a way better option than the bronzer. The gold would not have gone as well with the silvery glitter. I think the Elf sealer is great! Just be sure to wipe off the tip of the brush with some tissue before dipping it back in so you don't get glitter all in the tube.
