Moisturizing Protein Treatment

Hey chicas! I wanted to share the moisturizing protein treatment I recently concocted. It's not like I pulled this recipe out of thin air, for it's mainly formulated products combined. The reason why I made it in the first place is because I was running low on my Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor Treatment, and my hair was long overdue for a deep conditioning, protein treatment.

To stretch out the last few drops of Aphogee I had left, I added:

  • Moisture Milks by Suave (This is a creamy, great smelling, moisturizing conditioner that I added to the mix for extra thickness)
  • 1 egg (protein)
  • A few spoonfuls of Pure Coconut Oil (For extra moisture. Coconut oil is one of the few oils that can truly penetrate the hair shaft, providing much needed moisture, thus improving the hair's elasticity)
I whipped this concotion together and applied it to dry hair, section by section (this was a pre-wash conditioning treatment). I then placed a processing cap (or disposable shower cap) on top of my head and allowed the conditioner to soak in for a few hours.

After that, I washed out the mix with shampoo and followed up with a great moisturizing conditioner, because I wanted to make sure my dry hair hadn't overdosed on protein! So, I used Nutrogena's Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask.

This concotion was slightly different than the one I whipped up in my Q&A Volume 8 video.

FYI, you can always add natural products you may already have around the house to your shampoo and or conditioner to enhance and or customize your hair treatments.

C'est tout!
