NYX & Wet n' Wild Haul

I recently Googled "eye shadow life span" and ran across an article titled, "Spring Clean Your Makeup Bag." You can only imagine the shock and horror I felt upon discovering that eye shadow should be discarded after 18 months, when I've been using shades from over three years ago!

Without hesitation, I discarded my old eye shadows, as well as a few rarely used lippies and immediately purchased some new items to add to the repertoire. Enter NYX:

Since I had to toss a lot of my "ghetto" palettes, as well as a bunch of individual shadows, I figured the best way to rebuild my collection, quick, would be to purchase one big palette. NYX had a few tempting, all encompassing palettes to choose from, but I ultimately decided to go with The "All I've Ever Wanted" Box. Check it out:

72 Fabulous eye shadows (mostly shimmer with a few matte)
But it doesn't stop there. Oh no, it gets better...

The top slides over to reveal 4 face powders, 4 blushers and 6 lip glosses. Here is the second deck up close:

Bronzer, powder, contour, highlight, blushers and lippies

Did I forget to mention that there's also a mirror in the lid?

Uh yeah, this palette is the bomb-dot-com! With all these colors, the options are limitless!

Now, I didn't stop at the palette, for I also bought a few lippies and a blush:

They came inside this sexy lace bag that I love. I like it so much that I'm going to find some use for it. Anyway, here's the blush up close:

Desert Rose
It's a deep pink shade that I'm hoping will serve as a nice dupe, or at least a runner up for MAC's Loverush blush, which I haven't been able to find since I ran out of it a while ago :-(.

As for the lippies, I decided to replace my Jumbo Lip Pencil in Deep Red:

The old one...

The new one!
I also opted for a few lipsticks:

Rose Bouquet

Haute Couture

As part of the packaging, they included a nice little look book:

And last but not least, I purchased a few eye shadow trios from Wet n' Wild:

From left to right: Spoiled Brat; I Dream of Greenie; and Sweet As Candy
I've only owned these palettes for a week and have already created quite a few fabulous looks with them. Stay tuned, because there are tons of tuts and looks to come...

Don't forget about foundation. You should disguard after a year.

Oh for sure! And concealer too. Learned that one the hard way, LOL!
