Hey Divas,
February is black history month, and I hope all of you try to do something in celebration of the legacy our ancestors have created. Today's post is in honor of Michelle Obama, the first lady and first black first lady I might add! I think she and President Obama are both phenomenal individuals who make a powerhouse couple! I really hope and pray that they stay blessed and continue to work hard to improve the nation for all people.
It's funny, because when black history month rolls around, we often take time to reminisce about the struggles our people faced in order to bring us where we are today. Yet, we often forget to contemplate ways in which we too can aid in the advancement of our people. What is it that we can do to help those who are struggling? For one, we can volunteer our time to help those in need. There's always a soup kitchen or some organization that needs servers to help feed the homeless. If you're crunched for time, you can donate clothes, food, or money to an organization that helps families in need. Did you know that some families are still reeling from the effects of hurricane Katrina? Many are still displaced and need help rebuilding their homes and their future. So, this month, try to find ways in which you can help give back to someone in need. Your help is needed today and always.
Until next time…
XOXO,
DPrincess28
