Take Some Time to Pamper Yourself

Hey Divas,

I recently shared with you guys how I've been going through some things. This past week has been really rough. It's been over a week since I washed my hair…and you know that means I've been going through it! I appreciate all the comments and emails I've received in response to my last post. You guys are truly supportive and thoughtful, and I thank you for that. You helped me realize that it's time for Miss DPrincess28 to get her mojo back!

Yesterday I finally took some time out to pamper myself, and I can't begin to tell you how good that made me feel. I can now tell you divas from experience how critical it is for us to take some time out to be selfish and really pamper ourselves. Tending to our spiritual, mental, and physical needs is a must if we ever intend to weather any type of storm that may come our way. I'll admit that I haven't been to church in two weeks, and I know it's time for me to get back on track. I didn't go yesterday simply because I was too tired…but I know that's really no excuse, as I seem to make time for everything else in my life. And trust, I wouldn't tell my divas to do anything I wouldn't do, so please believe that I will be going to church again next week. More importantly though, I intend to continue my daily walk and talk with the Lord, because church definitely isn't the end-all be-all to having an active relationship with God. Many of you said you'd be praying for me, and I want to let you know that I will be praying that the Lord sees you through whatever issues you may be dealing with as well.

As far as tending to my physical needs, I did an EVOO treatment for the first time in a long time yesterday. I basically allowed the EVOO to sit on my hair overnight and plan to wash it out later on today. In addition to that, I went for a walk and then gave myself a much needed mani and pedi. Taking time out to work on my outer self was not only relaxing, but helped lift my spirits. Sometimes we have to make the outside reflect what we want the inside to feel. I guess the term "Fake it till you make it," could be applied in this sense. I have faith that the Lord will see me through everything in life, and I don't plan on giving up on myself anytime soon. All I ask is that you continue to take care of yourselves, because we divas are resilient!

Until next time…

XOXO,

DPrincess28

I'm happy to hear you took the time to pamper yourself. I believe in pampering and spending time with oneself; it's so important for keeping your sanity. This past weekend I needed some much needed “me” time too. I like to get in the kitchen and cook because it helps to relax me. Cooking forces me to slow down, take my time, and have patience. So I cooked ginger-honey glazed salmon with chipotle sauce, wild rice, and sautéed spinach. Then as I watched a movie I polished my nails with a clear coat of Sally Hansen clear polish as well. I just needed to get my mind focused so I can make a sound decision and think clearly. So believe me you are not alone we all have an issue to tackle.

So remember to keep God first and everything will work out. Till next time…
