Simple Tan & Brown
I wore a tan and black dress Friday night to help my girlfriend celebrate her 30th birthday, so I decided to do a simple tan and brown look on my eyes. I used my EP24 Unforgettable palette by L.A. Colors to create this look:
Step 1: I applied a heavy line to my upper and lower lash line using my black eyeliner pencil by N.Y.C.
Step 2: I traced over the pencil on the upper lash line with my liquid eyeliner by Jordana.
Step 3: After priming my lids with my Urban Decay Primer Potion, I applied the tan color in the EP24 Unforgettable palette (the 3rd color from the left) to my entire lid below the crease.
Step 4: I then applied the dark brown color (last color from the left) to the outer corner of my lids and the crease.
Step 5: I touched up some of the tan that was lost when I applied the dark brown and made sure to blend the colors together with my blending brush.
Step 6: I touched up my liquid liner, as some of the shadow covered it up, and opted to not apply any eye shadow to the brow bone as a highlight. I also opted to not apply any falsies for this look. Instead, I just applied a few coats of my Sky High Curves mascara in very black by Maybelline, and this was the end result:
To finish my look, I used:
- Pür 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup in Deeper
- Blot powder by Mac
- Gold bronzer by Icing
- Raizin powder blush by Mac
- 24 Brown lip liner by Jordana
- Cutie lip gloss by Ulta

Why we decided to take a pic by the ATM machine, I have no idea. Normally, I don't go to clubs because I don't like the atmosphere, but my girl wanted to ring in her birthday dancing, so I made concessions. Although my husband came with, the men were still aggressive and trying to mack. On top of that, two fights broke out, and we took the second one as our cue to leave. It was case and point as to why I don't like clubs, but I must say that I did have a pretty good time in spite of it all :-).

Luckily, I was able to borrow the jewelry from my sis and acquire some of the other additions for little to nothing. I've always said that having sisters is a blessing because you get double (and in my case, triple) the wardrobe! How's that for turning something old into something new!
Normally, I don't like empire waist or babydoll dresses, because they tend to make me look pregnant. Yet, the fact that this dress has a tie around the waist seemed to minimize the pregnancy effect. It's 100% Rayon and very comfortable. I liked it so much that I had to buy another one in a different color:

The flash bounced off my earring to make it look like it was blinging more than it was. A lot of folks came out that night to show off their white fit, and I believe I had more fun people watching than anything. Below are a few more pics from that night:

I was very disappointed when I removed the dress from its pouch. The one thing I forgot about ordering online is that you never know what the material will actually be like until you get it. From the pictures, I thought the dress was going to be a polyester and spandex mix with ruching (I have a black dress that looks like it, and that's what it's made of). To my dismay however, the dress is made of a very thin cotton:
You probably can't tell from the picture above, but the dress is so thin that it is see through! There is no lining in it whatsoever, and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to wear it. I know you're supposed to wear black underwear under white, but with this fabric, you need a full body suit to ensure that it won't be a night full of embarrassing moments. I therefore had to pull out my black pair of Spanx for this one. Although the material sucks, the good news is that the dress fits!
I cut my head out of this picture because I didn't have my hair or makeup done. Thus, I was looking a hot mess! I was just eager to try the dress on. My diva Bluebonnet67 asked me how I was going to accessorize the look, and girl I can tell you this: I will NOT be wearing those strappy silver shoes with it, that's for sure. There's just something about strappy shoes with a provocative dress that screams hooker, LOL! I do plan on pairing it with silver, but I'll probably be wearing the same shoes I wore in my Hot Pink Hottie post. I don't know, but I'll definitely post pics of the full look next week.
